The "Users" menu, accessible only to platform members with Administrator access rights, allows users to be viewed, modified, created and deleted.
To create a new User, click on the "User" menu on the left of the screen, then on "Add a new user"
In the creation form, you can define:
- The Name of the user
- The First name of the user
- The User name of the user, usually equal to firstname.lastname (without capitals or accents)
- The password (this password will have to be given personally to the user, who will have to change it on their first connection).
- Confirm password
- The user's Email address
These various parameters can be modified later.
Then click "Add" once the elements have been filled in. By default the user role (Reader, User or Administrator) is set to Reader.
Rights associated with each role
- Reader:
The reader role by default has access to no resources outside its profile.
However, it is possible to give read access so that it can see a resource as well as its child elements, for resources organised in a tree structure.
Or give write access so that he can edit a resource, move it, delete it or add children for tree-organised resources. For tree resources this also applies to its children
- User:
The user role by default has access to no resources outside its profile, but it can create its own resources (except on the Meters page) which it can view, edit, move and delete.
In addition, it is possible to give read access so that he can see a resource as well as its child elements, for resources organised in a tree structure.
Or give write access so they can edit a resource, move it, delete it or add children for tree-organised resources. For tree-organised resources this also applies to its children
- Administrator:
The administrator role has the rights to access and manage all resources and users (excluding super administrator) on the platform as well as its settings (excluding feature names and activation).
Additional rights concerning a resource (Folder, Dashboard, etc...) can be granted to a group of users or to a single user: Give rights to a user
The new user will then receive an automatic email with the following subject line:
[Energiency] Platform name: New user: Connection to the Energiency platform
This email can sometimes arrive in spam, remember to check them if you don't see it:
The user will need to click on the "Change password" button, and will be prompted to log in with their username and password provided separately by the administrator who created their accesses, then they will then need to change their password.
