Alerts are signals used to monitor the behaviour of meters. As soon as the meters meet a user-defined condition, they appear as a red circle. If the meters do not meet the condition, the circle is green. They are located in the navigation bar on the left.
At the top of the page, click on the "Create an alert" to create a new alert.
In the creation form, you can define:
- the name of the alert
- the condition, choose the meter to be observed and the target
Once the new alert has been created a new form appears on the right, you can define:
- Time step
- Minimum occurrences
- Data format
- Aggregation function
- Description
- Message
- Recipients
Time step
Time step is the time interval used to aggregate data in the alert (data hour by hour, day by day, month by month, etc).
Minimum occurrences
The Minimum occurrences field allows you to specify how many times the given condition must occur before the alert is triggered, thus determining the minimum frequency required to trigger the alert.
Data format
The data format corresponds to the nature of the meter data, and is used to tell the platform how to process this data.
There are three data formats:
- Numeric : the data are numbers, with or without decimals.
- Categorical : data are strings, text.
- Index : the data are indexes. For display and calculations, the platform will automatically use the difference values between two indexes.
To define the data format, click on the Data format field and then click on the format corresponding to the meter data.
Aggregation function
The aggregation function defines how the data is aggregated. For example, when the meter contains data with a time step of 1 point per minute and we wish to have a measurement interval of 1 hour (see next section), we need to define whether we want the sum of the 60 points, or their average, or their maximum, etc.
The possible aggregation functions are as follows:
- Average: the aggregated value is equal to the average of the points. This function is generally used for power, flow, temperature, etc.
- Sum: the aggregated value is equal to the sum of the points. This function is generally used for energy, volume, quantity, etc.
- Median: the aggregate value is equal to the median value of the points.
- Minimum: the aggregate value is equal to the minimum value of the points.
- Maximum: the aggregate value is equal to the maximum value of points.
- Count: the aggregate value is equal to the number of points.
NB: the Aggregation function field is not available when the data format is Categoricalor Indexas aggregation calculations do not apply to these data types.
To define the faggregation function, click on the Aggregation function field and then click on the desired function.
Description
The Description field is a free text area. By default, the field is empty.
To add a description, click on the text box then write the text.
Message
The Message field enables to add text that will be included in the notification sent in the event of a trigger. This could be a problem resolution instruction, for example.
Recipients
The Recipients field is used to indicate which people should receive notification when an alert is triggered. There are two types of notification: by email and by SMS.
For email notification, click on the Email field and select the user(s) concerned (their email address is already entered in their user information). If the recipient does not have a user account on the Energiency platform, enter the recipient's email address, then press Enter to validate the email. Follow the same procedure to add other recipients.
For SMS notifications, click on the SMS field, enter the recipient's phone number, then press Enter to validate the number. Proceed in the same way to add other recipients. Please note: this field must contain valid phone numbers in international format (example : enter “+49” instead of “0” for a German number).
